Siapa saja orang – orang yang ditangani di Bhakti Luhur?
Di 400 unit yayasan di dalam kota Malang dan sekitarnya, tinggal kira-kira 1500 penyandang cacat, yang termasuk penyandang cacat fisik dan mental, para tuna wisma dan anak-anak yang terlantar. Ada 175 penyandang cacat dewasa, sekelompok kecil lanjut usia, sedangkan sebagian besar berusia 21 tahun ke bawah. Kebanyakan anak-anak itu mengalami kehidupan/ dibesarkan dalam kesulitan sebelum mereka masuk ke panti.
Sedangkan total anak-anak yang berkebutuhan khusus dan para lanjut usia diseluruh Indonesia termasuk di kota Malang berkisar 5000 orang dengan dibantu oleh Suster-suster pembina Bhakti Luhur dan perawat yang berjumlah kurang lebih 2000 orang.
Who are the people being cared for at Bhakti Luhur?
Within Bhakti Luhur’s 400 units of care facility in the Malang Region and surrounding areas, there lives a total of 1500 people with disabilities, including those who are mentally handicapped, homeless elderly, and abandoned children. The number consists of (at the time of this writing) 175 adults with disabilities, a minor group of elderly citizens, and the remainders are kids with special needs below 21 years of age. Most of the kids were raised in poverty even before they were sent to the orphanage.
Bhakti Luhur foundation cares for and houses a total number of 5000 people (children and senior citizens with disabilities) throughout Indonesia. 1500 of those are in the Malang Region. The ALMA sisters of Bhakti Luhur are devoting their lives to serve the poor, sick and disabled nationwide. The ALMA sisters (including nurses, social workers and educators) amount to approximately 2000 people.
Wie zijn de mensen die betrokken zijn bij de Bhakti Luhur Foundation?
De stichting omvat 400 locaties in de stad Malang en omgeving. Hier verblijven ongeveer 1500 mensen met een lichamelijke en/of geestelijke handicap, waaronder ook dakloze en verstoten kinderen. Er verblijven 175 volwassenen met een handicap, een kleine groep van ouderen dus, waar het overgrote deel van de mensen die hulp vindt binnen de Bhakti Luhur jonger dan 21 is. De meeste kinderen hebben een moeilijke tijd gehad voordat ze bij Bhakti Luhur terecht kwamen.
In totaal worden er in heel Indonesië ongeveer 5000 gehandicapte kinderen en ouderen bijgestaan door de Zusters en verpleegkundigen van Bhakti Luhur, hetgeen neerkomt op ongeveer 2000 hulpverleners.
Salah satu program dari Bhakti Luhur adalah CBR / RBM ( Community Based Rehabilitation / Rehabilitasi Berbasis Masyarakat ), apakah itu?
Community Based Rehabilitation adalah Rehabilitasi Berbasis Masyarakat. “ Reaching the Unreach Area “ adalah semboyan CBR. Prinsip kerja CBR adalah penyandang cacat tidak datang kepada pekerja sosial, tetapi pekerja sosial yang datang kepada mereka. Pekerja turun ke masyarakat mencari anak cacat. Sasarannya adalah daerah slump dengan pendapatan rendah.
One of Bhakti Luhur’s outreach programs is CBR (Community Based Rehabilitation). What is it actually?
Bhakti Luhur’s “Community Based Rehabilitation” program has its motto: “Reaching the unreachabale area”. This motto suggests that social workers’ sole mission is to go outward and reach as many people with disabilities as possible; and not the other way around. Our social workers are committed to dedicate their lives seeking poor and disabled people to be saved and nurtured. The target areas are slums and low-income vicinities.
CBR (Community Based Rehabilitation) is een van de programma’s van de Bhakti Luhur Foundation. Wat houdt dit precies in?
CBR is op de gemeenschap gebaseerde revalidatie. “Reaching the Unreach Area” is het motto van CBR. Het algemene werkingsprincipe is hier niet van kracht. Het zijn hier namelijk niet de gehandicapten die naar de maatschappelijk werkers komen voor hulp, de maatschappelijk werkers komen naar de gehandicapten. De werknemers gaan in de gemeenschap op zoek naar kinderen met een handicap, die behoefte hebben aan hulp. Het richten zich daarmee op mensen in een slechte situatie, die een laag inkomen hebben.
Apakah Pembina Bhakti Luhur dan siapa saja anggotanya?
Pembina Bhakti Luhur terdiri dari orang-orang awam, pria dan wanita, yang mempersembahkan diri sepenuhnya kepada anak-anak berkebutuhan khusus dan para lanjut usia serta yang terlantar, melanjutkan cita-cita Vincentius dan ibu Theresia, di Indonesia untuk dalam kebersamaan dengan kaum miskin, cacat dan terlantar melayani yang paling berkebutuhan.
Para anggota pergi ke desa-desa dan daerah-daerah kumuh, hidup bersama dengan kaum miskin dan cacat. Tugas mereka ialah membantu dan memberdayakan kaum cacat dan miskin yang ditelantarkan. Melalui Rehabilitasi Bersumberdaya Masyarakat mereka mengubah mentalitas masyarakat terhadap para penyandang cacat dan mereka mencari semua penyandang cacat yang tak terjangkau di dalam masyarakat. Mereka bekerja melalui kelompok-kelompok masyarakat. Mereka hidup bersama serumah dengan para penyandang cacat yang paling parah.
What are the Trustees of Bhakti Luhur’s foundation and who are the members?
The Bhakti Luhur’s trustees is composed of lay people, men and women, who dedicate their lives entirely to children with special needs, as well as the elderly and the displaced. Their mission is to continue the ideals of St. Vincent de Paul and Mother Theresa of Calcutta in regards of serving the poor, disabled and displaced throughout Indonesia.
The members reach out to poor villages and slums, oftentimes living together with the sick and disabled. Their task is to assist and empower the disabled and the poor who are neglected. Through their Community Based Rehabilitation program, they try to change the society’s perspective towards people with disabilities and their search for all the ‘unreachable’ with disabilities in society is endless. They work hand-in-hand with local community groups. They live together in the same houses with the most severe patients with disabilities.
Zijn de oprichters van Bhakti Luhur en iedereen leden?
De commissarissen van Bhakti Luhur zijn samengesteld uit leken, mannen en vrouwen die volledig toegewijd zijn aan kinderen en ouderen die speciale behoeftes hebben en/of verstoten zijn. Hiermee zetten zij de idealen van Vincent en Theresa’s moeder voort in Indonesië, waar solidariteit met de armen, gehandicapten en verstoten mensen voorop staat. De leden gingen naar de dorpen en sloppenwijken, om daar samen te leven met de armen en gehandicapten. Hun taak is om de verwaarloosde gehandicapten en armen bij te staan en kracht te geven. Door CBR verandert de mentaliteit van de samenleving ten aanzien van personen met een handicap, en wordt de zoektocht naar alle nog niet bereikte mensen met een handicap in de samenleving voortgezet. Ze werken door middel van maatschappelijke groeperingen, en wonen samen met de mensen met de ernstigste handicaps in hetzelfde huis.

Syarat menjadi relawan Bhakti Luhur :
- Sehat secara jasmani dan rohani.
- Berkeinginan bersumbangsih tanpa pamrih terhadap sesama.
- Melayani dengan tulus bagi saudara kita yang membutuhkan.
Pendaftaran dapat melaui email dengan mengisi formulir pendaftaran menjadi relawan, atau anda bisa menghubingi kami di kantor pusat Yayasan Bhakti Luhur Malang pada alamat yang telah tertera di atas maupun pada kantor – kantor Bhakti Luhur cabang yang lain dan Yayasan Perkasih Bhakti Luhur terdekat.
What are the requirements to become a Bhakti Luhur volunteer, and how to sign up?
You just have to be:
1. Physically and mentally fit
2. Eager to devote a certain time and energy for a good cause
3. Eager to serve and help the less fortunate without reservation
Registration could be done promptly through email by filling out the form, or you can contact our head office in Malang at the address above. You can also contact our offices in different locations nationwide, or register through your local ‘Perkasih’ organization. Your sincere help and goodwill are highly appreciated.
Wat zijn de vereisten om vrijwilligerswerk te doen, en hoe wordt dit geregistreerd?
De eisen om vrijwilligers werk te doen binnen de Bhakti Luhur Foundation zijn:
- U moet gezond zijn van lichaam en geest
- U moet geleid worden door de wens om belangeloos bij te dragen aan het welzijn van anderen
- U moet oprecht klaar willen staan voor onze naasten in nood
Registreren kan door het inschrijfformulier voor vrijwilligerswerk in te vullen en per e-mail te versturen. U kunt ook contact opnemen met het hoofdkantoor van de Bhakti Luhur Foundation (op het adres hierboven) of op het kantoor van een andere tak van Bhakti Luhur in uw omgeving.
Apabila anda hendak mendonasikan bahan – bahan kebutuhan dari luar negeri?
Pengiriman diharapkan ditujukan kepada Bhakti Luhur Pusat yang bertempat di Malang, atau langsung kepada cabang – cabang Bhakti Luhur yang membutuhkan, untuk mengurangi biaya operasional Yayasan Bhakti Luhur.
Adapun syarat minimum yang harus dipenuhi adalah penyertaan surat pernyataan yang berisikan tentang detail kontak pengirim dan tujuan pengiriman, alangkah baiknya bila sudah dilengkapi dengan surat keterangan donasi yang ditujukan kepada :
- Departemen Bea dan Cukai Republik Indonesia,
- Departemen Perdagangan Republik Indonesia,
- Departemen Industri Republik Indonesia,
- Departemen Sosial Republik Indonesia,
- Departemen Keuangan Republik Indonesia.
Dikarenakan ada administrasi dan biaya administrasi yang harus kami selesaikan pada masing-masing departemen diatas.
What if I would like to donate certain consumer goods from overseas?
Delivery could be directed to the Head Office at Bhakti Luhur Malang Region, or directly to our branches throughout Indonesia. We are expecting your kind donations to alleviate our operational costs and increasing living costs.
Please bear in mind that if you imported certain goods from overseas, make sure that you meet certain paperwork requirements as regulated by the Indonesian government. It is advisable to declare your donations to the following government’s institutions:
• Directorate General of Customs and Excise of the Republic of Indonesia
• Ministry of Trade of the Republic of Indonesia
• Ministry of Industry of the Republic of Indonesia
• Ministry of Social Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia
• Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Indonesia
We welcome your kind donations from overseas, and we thank you for your help; however we still need to do some paperworks due to certain administrative taxes and costs imposed to us by the government.
Wat moet u doen als u materiële zaken wilt doneren vanuit het buitenland?
Houd in dit geval de verwachte levertijd in gedachten. U kunt uw donaties sturen naar het hoofdkantoor van de Bhakti Luhur Foundation in Malang, maar u kunt uw pakket ook direct naar het Bhakti Luhur weeshuis in nood sturen, om op deze manier de operationele kosten voor Bhakti Luhur te verminderen.
De minimale eis waaraan moet worden gedaan is dat er een verklaring wordt opgenomen met daarin de contactgegevens van de afzender, en het adres waar het pakket moet worden geleverd.
Daarnaast zou het mooi zijn als er een donatiebrief wordt bijgesloten, gericht aan:
