PONTIANAK – Natal menjadi hari spesial bagi umat Kristiani diseluruh dunia. Hal serupa dirasakan umat Kristiani dalam tubuh PT. Perkebunan Nusantara XIII di Kalimantan Barat. Perayaan Natal Oikumene 2008 digelar Panitia Hari Besar Kristen (PHBK) PTPN XIII di ruang Takalar Grand Mahkota Hotel, Sabtu (13/12) malam. Perayaan ini mengambil Tema ‘Jangan Takut, sebab AKU menyertai engkau, Janganlah bimbang, sebab Aku ini Allahmu. Aku akan meneguhkan, bahkan akan menolong engkau (Yesaya 41:10).’ dengan Subtema ‘dengan hikmah Natal kita bersatu padu untuk meningkatkan kinerja dalam menghadapi situasi ketidakpastian ekonomi saat ini.’
Kebaktian bersama berlangsung sekitar dua jam yang dimulai tepat jam 17.00 wib, diawali dengan prosesi Rohaniawan, Penasehat PHBK, Ketua PHBK, Ketua Panitia Natal, dan Perwakilan Karyawan, kemudian dilanjutkan dengan penyalaan lilin Natal berturut-turut oleh Pdt. Yehezkiel Wilan (Rohaniawan), Bp. P. Lumbantoruan (Penasehat PHBK), Bp. P. Girsang (Ketua PHBK), Bp. H.S. Manalu (Undangan) dan Agus Hutagaol(Mewakili Karyawan)
Dalam khotbahnya, Pdt. Yehezkiel Wilan mengingatkan kepada seluruh karyawan PTPN XIII yang pada saat ini merayakan Natal agar tidak terlena kepada acara seremoni perayaan Natal saja. Sebagai karyawan yang mempunyai tugas dan tanggung jawab serta bekerja dengan tekun dengan loyalitas yang tinggi kepada perusahaan, karyawan juga berkewajiban untuk mendukung perusahaan dan para Direksi sebagai pemimpin perusahaan dalam doa. Sebagai orang percaya, kekuatan doa diyakini mampu menjawab tantangan kedepan yang begitu keras. Krisis keuangan yang melanda dunia saat ini, mengakibatkan terpuruknya perekonomian Negara-negara besar yang membawa dampak kurang baik terhadap perekonomian bangsa kita, namun sebagai orang yang percaya jangan takut, sebab AKU menyertai engkau, Janganlah bimbang, sebab Aku ini Allahmu. Aku akan meneguhkan, bahkan akan menolong engkau, demikian Firman Tuhan.
Sepanjang kebaktian yang dihadiri +/- 1.000 orang juga dihadiri oleh Bapak Thadeus Yus, Komisaris PTPN XIII beserta Ibu Caterina Lies Thadeus Yus, Pdt. Barnabas Simin, Mantan Komisaris PTPN XIII . Kebaktian dipimpin oleh Bapak Pdt. Pdt Royke Sambeka yang juga merupakan pembina kerohanian PTPN XIII, berlangsung dengan hikmat juga diisi dengan lagu-lagu pujian yang dipersembahkan oleh Paduan suara dari PHBK Gunung Meliau Grup, PHBK Sungai Dekan, PHBK Gunung Mas, PHBK Rimba Belian Grup, tak ketinggalan Vokal Group Rapolo, Juara I Festival Lagu-lagu Batak se Kalimantan Barat yang juga yang merupakan anak-anak dari Karyawan PTPN XIII.
Tepat pada pukul 19.00 wib, para undangan memasuki Takalar Room Grand Mahkota Hotel. Seluruh Direksi PTPN XIII beserta Ibu turut hadir dalam perayaan ini tak ketinggalan anggota Komisaris PTPN XIII, Hamzah Tawil, Para rekanan PTPN XIII, para Kepala Bagian, Ketua Badan Dakwah Hari Besar Islam (BDHBI) PTPN XIII dan para tamu undangan lainnya. Acara dilanjutkan dengan acara Umum yang dimulai dengan makan malam bersama, yang diiringi lagu-lagu pujian yang dibawwakan oleh Vokal Group Rapolo.
Dalam sambutannya Ketua Panitia, Santuan Siahaan mengatakan bahwa Perayaan Natal tahun ini berbeda dari tahun-tahun sebelumnya. Natal tahun ini perayaan diisi dengan pencerahan Natal ‘mengubah kegagalan menjadi berkat’ yang dibawakan oleh Romo Adrian Adiredjo, OP dan sebagai wujud kebersamaan ditunjukkan melalui koor Gabungan dari Kebun/Unit dan Kantor Direksi yang berjumlah 400 orang yang menyanyikan secara bersama-sama Lagu Great Halleluya. Tak lupa, Santun Siahaan mengucapkan terima kasih yang sebesar-besarnya kepada Manajemen PTPN XIII yang telah memberikan dukungan moril dan materil sehingga acara perayaan Natal ini dapat berlangsung, juga ucapan terima kasih kepada Panitia yang telah bekerja keras sehingga acara ini dapat terlaksana dengan baik. Kepada Hotel Grand Mahkota yang memberikan tempat dan fasilitas serta pelayanan yang baik.
Direktur Utama PTPN XIII Kasumandaru menyambut baik perayaan Natal yang diadakan PHBK. Berkumpul bersama dalam perayaan Natal seperti ini patut disyukuri dengan tidak melupakan nikmat Tuhan. “Tema yang diusung sangat bagus dan relevan dengan keadaan saat ini,” katanya. Ada tiga hal yang patut kita renungkan, sehingga makna Natal ini dapat memberikan dampak yang baik kepada kita semua dalam menghadapi keadaan yang mengenakkan, yaitu : Pertama, kelapangan dada untuk menerima hal yang tidak bisa kita ubah, Kedua keberanian mengubah hal yang bisa kita ubah. Terakhir, kebijaksanaan untuk melihat perbedaan yang ada.
Kasumandaru juga menyerahkan tali kasih PTPN XIII pada panti asuhan Theresa Siantan dan yayasan Bhakti Luhur Kota Baru Pontianak.

PTPN XIII Celebrate Oikumene Christmas Party
PONTIANAK- Christmas day is a special time for all Christians worldwide. The same feelings are in the atmosphere when PT. Perkebunan Nusantara XIII (state plantation) of West Borneo celebrated Christmas. The ecumenical Christmas 2008 was celebrated together with all committee of Christian’s holy days of PTPN XIII at Takalar Room of Grand Mahkota Hotel. This celebration is main-themed “So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. (Isaiah 41:10). The sub-theme is ‘with Christmas Spirit we unite to improve our work performance in the face of current economic uncertainty.’
Joint-worship service lasted for about two hours and began exactly at 17:00 am; preceded by a procession of Spiritual Leaders, Advisory PHBK, PHBK Chairman, Chairman of the Christmas Committee, and Legislative Employees, and then continued with the lighting of Christmas candles by the Rev.. Ezekiel Wilan (Spiritual Leader), Mr. P. Lumbantoruan (Advisory PHBK), Mr. P. Girsang (Chairman PHBK), Mr. H.S. Manalu (Invitee) and Agus Hutagaol (Representing Employees).
In his sermon, Pastor. Wilan Ezekiel reminds all employees of PTPN XIII who are celebrating Christmas to not feel content by just being able to have a ceremonial celebration only. All employees have upcoming duties and responsibilities; and should work diligently with a steadfast loyalty to the company. Employees are also expected to support the company as well as the Board of Directors/corporate leaders in their prayers. As Christian believers, the power of prayers is believed to be the answer for the challenges of the future hardships. The financial crisis that swept the world over today is resulting in the economy collapse of many countries; which inadvertently brought unfavorable impact to our nation’s economy. However, as strong believers we must not be afraid, for I am with you. Do not hesitate, for I am your God. I will establish, will even lift you up, so the Word of God.
The service was attended by approximately 1,000 people and also attended by Mr. Thadeus Yus, Commissioner of PTPN XIII accompanied by his wife Caterina Lies Thadeus Yus, Rev. Barnabas Simin, Former Commissioner of PTPN XIII. Praise and Worship led by Mr. Rev. Royke Sambeka which is also the spiritual mentor of PTPN XIII, and the songs were sung by the Mount Meliau choir of PHBK Group, PHBK Dekan River, PHBK Gunung Mas, PHBK Rimba Belian Group; also starring Rapolo Vocal Group, 1st Winner of Batak Songs Festival in West Kalimantan, which are also the PTPN XIII employees’ children.
Exactly at 19.00 pm, the guests entered the Takalar Room of Grand Mahkota Hotel. All Directors of PTPN XIII along with their wives also participated in this event. Also present in this event are The Commissioner of PTPN XIII, Hamza Tawil, the partner of PTPN XIII, Heads of Department, Chairman of the Islamic Da’wah Holy Days (BDHBI) PTPN XIII and other honorable guests. The procession was followed with a General protocol that began with a dinner together, enlivened by background singing presented by Rapolo Vocal Group.
In his speech, Committee Chairman Santuan Siahaan mentioned that the Christmas celebration this year is quite different from the previous years. This year’s Christmas celebration is filled with enlightenment and ‘changes of failures into blessings”. This particular theme was delivered by Father Adrian Adiredjo, OP, and as a form of togetherness, the joint choir of the Garden/Unit and the Office of the Board of Directors, amounting to 400 people sings “Great Hallelujah” Song together. Moreover, Santun Siahaan expressed his gratitude to the management of PTPN XIII who have provided moral and material support for this Christmas celebration event, to the Committee members who have worked diligently to realize this event, and to the management of Hotel Grand Mahkota who has provided room, facilities, and excellent hospitality.
President Director of PTPN XIII Kasumandaru cherished the Christmas celebration organized by PHBK. To be able to gather around in this Christmas time is something to be grateful for and to praise the favors of the Lord. “This event’s theme is very good and relevant to the current circumstances,” he said. There are three things which we ought to contemplate, so that the real meaning of Christmas could deliver a good impact for all of us in any circumstances. First, is to accept things we can not change, secondly, the courage to change things we can change. Finally, the wisdom to see the differences between the two.
Kasumandaru also handed gifts of love from PTPN XIII to Theresa Siantan orphanage and Bhakti Luhur foundations, Kota Baru-Pontianak.
