Wakil Bupati Sekadau, Rupinus, meninjau lokasi kebakaran di Pasar Sekadau, Selasa (21/12) malam. Dalam kunjungan tersebut Rupinus didampingi Wakil Ketua DPRD Kabupaten Sekadau, H. Isnaini.
Peristiwa kebakaran itu terjadi sekitar pukul 22.00, dimana pada waktu tersebut Pasar Sekadau mulai terasa sepi. Masyarakat yang ingin tahu akan peristiwa tersebut tumpah ruah ke lokasi kejadian yang kebetulan berada di tepi Sungai Kepuas. Tiga unit mobil pemadam kebakaran dari Pemkab Sekadau dan Yayasan Bhakti Luhur diturunkan langsung guna memadam kobaran api yang nyaris tidak terbendung tersebut.
Bujang, salah seorang masyarakat Sekadau menyebutkan sedikitnya 24 unit kios rata dilahap si jago merah. Sebagian besar kios yang terbakar tersebut menjual beragam jenis pakaian dan warung makan. Sementara bangunan Badan Pemadaman Kebakaran (BPK) yang juga sejajar dengan kios tersebut luput dari serangan si jago merah, demikian juga dengan pasar dan pasar ikan. Tidak ada korban jiwa dalam peristiwa tersebut.
Wakil Bupati Sekadau, Rupinus, mengatakan saat ini pihaknya sedang menginventarisir kerugian yang disebabkan oleh kebakaran tersebut. Selain itu, Rupinus juga meminta pihak desa dan kecamatan membuat laporan yang kemudian disampaikan kepada Bupati Sekadau. “Kita minta pihak desa dan kecamatan supaya membuat laporan untuk disampaikan kepada bupati,” ujarnya.
Sementara itu, Pelaksana Tugas (Plt) Kepala Badan Penanggulangan Bencana Kabupaten Sekadau, Ahmad Suryadi, mengatakan kini pihaknya melalui petugas desa sedang mendata kerugian yang disebabkan oleh kebakaran tersebut.
Sementara itu, Wakil Ketua DPRD Kabupaten Sekadau, H. Isnaini, mengatakan pihaknya meminta supaya pemerintah mencari solusi tempat sementara untuk pedagang kaki lima yang kiosnya terbakar. “Kita berharap ada solusi dari Pemkab Sekadau untuk mencari tempat sementara sehingga mereka bisa berjualan kembali,” kata Isnaini.

Rupinus Reviewed Location of Fire at Sekadau Market, approximately 24 food stalls burned down
Vice Chief Regent of Sekadau District, Rupinus, paid an observational visit to view the location of fires at Sekadau Market, Tuesday (21/12) night. During the visit he was accompanied by Vice Chairman Rupinus Sekadau district legislature, H. Isnaini.
The fire occurred at around 22:00, at which time the market was starting to close for the evening. People who were anxious about the fire poured into the fire location who happened to be on the banks of the Kapuas River. Three units of fire trucks from local government and Yayasan Bhakti Luhur Sekadau arrived almost immediately to put out the flames that is already hardly unstoppable.
Bujang, one of the Sekadau resident witnessed that at least 24 units of Sekadau vendor kiosks were burned down. Most of the kiosks which were burned sells various types of clothing and food groceries. Meanwhile, the Fire Department building (BPK), which is located parallel to the row of kiosks was spared from the heavy burning; as well as the wet market and fish market. There were no casualties in this incident.
Vice Chief Regent of Sekadau, Rupinus, explained that his staffs are currently estimating the monetary loss caused by this incident. In addition to that, Rupinus also asked for the help of sub-disctrict municipality officers to report this event to the Chief Regent of Sekadau. “We request the sub-district officers to make a written report,” says he.
Meanwhile, Acting Head of Disaster Management Agency Sekadau District, Ahmad Suryadi, said today his staffs would investigate through the village officers and record the losses caused by fire.
In addition to that, Vice Chairman of the district legislature Sekadau, H. Isnaini, said he requested that the government to provide a temporary solution for vendors whose stall were burned down. “We hope that there is a solution from Pemkab Sekadau to find a temporarily place so they can be back in business,” said Isnaini.
