Surabaya, 1 December 2014 – Shangri-La Hotel, Surabaya invites guests to grant the wishes of orphans from Bhakti Luhur Orphanage this Christmas.

Doing things differently this year, Shangri-La Hotel, Surabaya invites its guests to join the “Grant My Christmas Wish” charity activity, a good cause in which they can buy handmade Christmas decorations from the orphans.

Throughout December, colleagues from Front Office take turns to give the orphans a helping hand.

Bhakti Luhur Orphanage in Tropodo, Waru-Sidoarjo has been the home for more than 90 children and babies born with congenital defects and abandoned by their parents. The hotel hopes this charity activity will grant these orphans their Christmas wishes, which are as simple as a new stationery set or a new pair set of shoes.

“This Christmas, I wish for a new set of shoes because my old shoe is getting tighter”, said Jonathan, a second-grade student.

“This Christmas, we want share the joy by having this charity where all the proceedings will go completely to the Bhakti Luhur Orphanage. We hope not only to grant the Christmas wishes, but also to help them with daily costs to take care of these kids”, said Renny Herwanto, the hotel’s communications manager.
